Shirley Griffey Burkhart

Mrs. Shirley Griffey Burkhart, age 92, of Clarksville, TN passed away peacefully in the Manor House of Dover on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born on January 9, 1921 in Stewart County, TN. She graduated from Big Rock High School and Business College. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy H. Griffey and Nannie Shirley Griffey, her husband, Perry H. Burkhart, her brothers John W. Griffey and Garner R. Griffey. She is survived by her step children, Tony Burkhart, Monroe Eugene Burkhart and Hulene Burkhart Holt, 4 step grandchildren, Trevor Burkhart, Jason Burkhart, Bobby Wayne Nicholson and Angela Burkhart, 2 brothers, Hubert E. Griffey of Clarksville and Wallace Griffey of Bumpus Mills, TN, 1 sister, Eleanor G. Matthews of Houston, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with Pastor David Fambrough officiating. Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 11am until funeral hour of 1pm.
